It's HOT outside. Summer came and instantly, it was 'summer' and now we're in the 100's. Actually tolerable in the shade with a breeze.
I've been hitting up all the free things I can here in Moab. Free movies, free meal and tonight I'm attending the free lecture series at the Visitor Information Center - The Power of the sky: Astronomy in the Ancient Southwest. Well, it's something to do and I'm pretty sure I will walk away knowing something that I didn't know before.
Been itching to hike. It's too hot. Wish I had someone to hike with that wanted to go to the places I want to go to, namely Bryce Canyon and maybe the Grand Canyon, northern California, etc., etc... seriously though those places would be more like a trip and not merely a hike. So, locally, I really want to get to the Needles District in Canyonlands NP. Maybe if it weren't so hot I could be more motivated.
Other than that, it's pretty boring here.

Rant
Okay, the whole licensing thing is quite a racket.
My license plate tab is due tomorrow. I have been saving up for this $176 expense, my rent and car insurance which are all due within two days of each other. Today I go in to get my tab and am told I need to get a safety inspection first. I didn't have to do this last year but I guess I have to this year, on a practically NEW Prius. So I go to the auto repair center and am told they are booked until July 2. Two days AFTER my tab is due. It's going to cost $17. So now my tab is costing me closer to $200. I have $20 in my pocket until payday on Friday. So after I get my inspection I have $3 left for food. OH! OH! OH! I guess there is the possibility I could get hit up for a 'late charge' on my tab now because the soonest I can get it is July 2. I just hope that I don't have some cop get behind me when I drive my car to and from the auto center or this could spiral out of control.
